3. When detecting, swing the search coil gently from side to side, slightly overlapping each sweep as you move forward. Keep your search coil approximately 1-2 inches above the ground as you search.
4. Raising the search coil during the sweep, or at the ends of your sweep, can cause false readings.
5. Move the search coil slowly; hurrying will cause you to miss targets.
6. It’s better you sweep the search coil from side to side in an arc line of 3 inches and keep it parallel with the ground.
